Newspaper Archives

This collection of newspaper cuttings date from 1986. A huge portion of them were kindly donated by former principal, Nora Moroney. As many people will know, Mrs. Moroney was totally dedicated to Ballygown School throughout her teaching career and that bond has remained unbroken since her retirement. She has a great love and vast knowledge of local history. In advance of the 50th Anniversary celebrations in 2009, Nora prepared the cuttings for display and Charlotte Slowey painstakingly scanned them. They give us a fascinating record of school and community events over the years. We will extend this collection and we would welcome any cuttings of articles that do not appear yet.
